Security and Hope
Colossians 3: 3-4 - ......your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
These statements in Colossians speak of the security and hope we have received in Christ. You cannot be more secure than being with Christ in God. And you cannot have a greater hope than being with him in glory. Life has an inner need for security and hope. We need to be restored to God for "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23), and "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom 6:23). "For Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, was buried and rose again from the dead the third day according to the scriptures " (1Cor. 15:3-4).
Since our sin separates us from God, the only way to God is through the Lord Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty for our sins, but rose from the dead to prove that he is the God-man who has power to save us from the judgement of God and to give each of us eternal life and forgiveness of sins and restore us to God. All that is necessary is to welcome him into your heart as Lord and Saviour. Then you will know the security and hope that only God can give.
