Our Eternal Lord and Saviour
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 8:58 - "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
John 17:5 - Father, glorify me in your presence,with the glory I had with you before the world began.
These three verses from the Gospel of John teach us that Christ is the Eternal God of Glory and that within the Trinity he is distinct from the Father. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to the God who desires to have a relationship with us. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This is because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We are told that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, was buried and rose again the third day, according to the scriptures. The scriptures refer to the Old Testament prophets such as Isaiah 53, written 700 years before Jesus Christ was made flesh and dwelt among us.
When we receive Christ into our life as Lord and Saviour, believing that he is the Redeemer, we are forgiven and are restored to a relationship with God.
