Our Eternal God
God said to Moses, "I Am who I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I Am has sent me to you.
~ Exodus 3:14 ~
The eternal nature of the God of the Bible is emphasized throughout scripture. Moses is told that God's name is 'I Am'. This is the Hebrew imperfect, implying continuous action with no beginning or ending. God is 'from everlasting to everlasting'. The Lord Jesus Christ claims equality with God when He says, 'Before Abraham was, I Am'. The Bible teaches that God is not only eternal but also three persons in one - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is perfect love among the persons of the Trinity and that is the love and life which God shares with us when we trust that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and we receive Him into our lives as our Lord and Saviour.
