Free Indeed!
Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. ~ John 8:32 ~
So if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed. ~ John 8:36 ~
Both these statements by the Lord Jesus Christ tell us that truth and freedom are available to anyone who trusts Christ as Lord and Saviour.
What is truth? Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Truth is the person of Christ. You can trust him having died for your sins and risen from the dead the third day, so giving you eternal life with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and at his right hand are pleasures forevermore.
What is freedom? All of the above plus freedom from the judgement of God and a self-centered life; freedom to live the life God wants you to live full of the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control).
