Creation and Redemption
Colossians 1:16 (end) - All things were created by him and for him.
This text from Colossians tells us of the origin of the universe and its purpose. The rest of the Bible tells us that, within the Trinity, the Father uses the Son as the agent of creation. The Father creates through the Son. Revelations 4 praises the Father for creation and Revelations 5 praises the Son for the redemption of a lost world. The Father so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) The Father initiates redemption but the Son is the Redeemer.
What is the purpose of creation? The universe is a gift to the Son. What is the purpose of redemption? To restore us to a relationship with God who loves us.
Have you put your trust in Christ by asking him into your life as your Lord and Saviour? If you have, you will be in Christ and he will be in you forever.
